Hello everyone!
Welcome to Pretty Odd Storybooks! I'm going to preface this entire welcome post by saying this: what I write is what I see. I recognize that my opinion on the world and all that goes on is not the only one. I appreciate the perspective of others so long as it is presented in a constructive fashion. In other words, I am not about to push my beliefs or views on anyone on this blog -- I am not in the business of conversion. I am entirely open to discussion. By all means, challenge what I have to say. Ask me questions, play devil's advocate, share your opinions with me. Just be constructive and nice about it :)
I have put a lot of thought into what I want this blog to be over the course of several months. I created it with the intention of simply having a personal blog, but that didn't really stick. Instead, this will be a place where I discuss the stories of our lives. I am talking about the stories that impact us, whether it be a piece of history, a book, a captured image, a politician's speech, a piece of art, a play, anything that impacts us as people. It should be known that I am an advocate of the arts and how they impact social change. I have recently discovered that I love sharing the stories of people around me, the stories that have impacted me. I find myself inspired by people who are in the business of creating, much like myself. Art, music, theatre, dance, literature, history, all of these impact how our world changes and grows. All of them have their own politics, all of them have their own controversies, and I want to share them as well as my take on them.
This blog will be half observation, half experience on my part. With a little added sugar and caffeine (random coffee reference?).
